More examples of excellent murals in SA

We stayed at the Marriott Plaza again this year//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js
I didn’t love the room as much as last year (though the grounds were still beautiful, the pool was great, and the boys had a good time watching an outdoor movie)//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js
though our balcony didn’t have a great view like last time, either//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js
We’ll definitely be switching to another Riverwalk hotel next time. Still had a great time in SA, though!//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

Easy to have fun when the boys are best friends

We stayed at the Marriott Plaza this year because we wanted to use some points — but looking at options for our next visit to SA, there are *so* many fabulous hotels there, some right on the Riverwalk and others a short distance, and some that look especially nice are much further out but have their own water parks, like the Gaylord Texan which we stay at each year.

Baton Rouge Murals
We were in Baton Rouge this weekend so Av could do some work and help with the flood cleanup. Please help if you can, friends — if you’re able to come in and volunteer your time, or send funds, it’s all much appreciated.
Here are some images we took earlier this year of the murals downtown, part of the Museum of Public Art project.

I’ll post another set of Baton Rouge murals soon.
From the Museum of Public Art:
The Museum of Public Art is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to the creation of community inspired murals in the Old South Baton Rouge community. We believe that Public Art is a force for positive community development in ways conscious and unconscious. How the message is conveyed through imagery, text, and symbolism, effects the soul of the community…. instilling a sense of hope, and history, through creative expression which unfortunately in many inner city communities, is stymied and stifled.
