12 Atlantic Station, Atlanta

Av had a gala to attend in Atlanta, so we stayed where it was held, at the Twelve Atlantic Station hotel — it’s in that very walkable area in midtown not far from IKEA and Target and what’s called the Millenium Gate.

The hotel itself seems really nice and all the rooms are suites. We had a full kitchen, a living room area, desk, balcony, and large bedroom.

…and a really odd thing happened. Av and I found something in the room that didn’t belong, that was obviously left by the occupants just before us. Shudder. That is all the detail I will go into, but Av did go downstairs to tell management about it, and our room was comped, and they were terribly apologetic. They offered to comp our next stay too, but that’s not happening.

We stay at hotels so often, every now and then, just statistically, something really weird has to happen. I still need to post about the hotel we stayed at in July in which the desk first sent us to a room that was in the middle of being renovated and the commode was in the bedroom. Also, there was the other hotel *that same week* that we set the fire alarm off because Av took a shower (desk: was there steam coming out of the shower? Av: yes, when I take a shower, there’s steam. desk: oh yeah. Steam sets off our fire alarms.). Good times. hahaha!

So anyway!

In better news, the Twelve is soon transitioning to become a Marriott Autograph hotel, and those are pretty terrific.
