Yesterday, sadly, Rev HD Dennis — the gentleman who built what’s known today as an art environment, Margaret’s Grocery outside Vicksburg — passed away.
When he met sweet-sweet Margaret in the ’80s, who already had the store thanks to her work with her first husband (who was murdered), he told her ‘If you’ll marry me, I’ll turn your little old brown plank store into a palace.’ Well, he sure did.
The one-of-a-kind Rev Dennis, ‘Preacher’, will be missed.
