It’s no wonder that so many movies — like Great Balls of Fire, The Client, The Firm, Elizabethtown, and Walk the Line — have had scenes filmed here:

For breakfast, we ordered a peanut-butter-and-banana sandwich.  Shugie loved it; Elvis would be proud.  You know, ordinarily I wouldn’t have chosen this for a morning dish, but we were in Memphis, and the boys mostly know Elvis from ‘American Trilogy’ and ‘Kentucky Rain’ on my iPod during bathtime.  It’s a parenting failure of mine that they haven’t yet fully grasped the cultural icon that Elvis always has, is, and will be.  While they’ve been to the boyhood home and Tupelo Hardware and Johnnie’s Drive In, a trip to Graceland is in their future.  That will help seal the deal.  Shag carpet forever!

…and Shug loooooved the sweet potato pancakes.  I have to figure out how to do this at home to get that perfect consistency.  They were *fantastic* (and yes, we got rid of the ‘whipped spread’ — they were crazy-good just plain!):
