We visited Cheekwood Art and Gardens in Nashville for the first time back on my birthday in October, and it was great — it’s Nashville’s botanical gardens and it has so much art…
The boys’ favorite part was the outdoor model train layout, which had several buildings, all made from natural materials. I think this exhibit ended December 31, but it was so pretty:
There were several frames around the gardens that people were posing behind…
(what a great idea!)
The sculpture trail was great — this is the Glass Bridge by Siah Armajani, and about it, they say: More than 500 years ago the great glassblowers of Murano, Italy, tried to build a glass bridge over the Grand Canal in Venice. Sadly, the sparkling gem collapsed into the lagoon, not to be recreated – until now. Sculpture today may be more than an object to behold; experience the magic of passing through this remarkable creation.
There were several other sculptures on the trail – so nice.
The Mathilde Roussel: Anatomia Botanica exhibit will run here from March 24 – May 13.
Cheekwood is also on a generous reciprocal program with other gardens and museums around the country.

Since it was Sunday, we decided to just run to Bobbie’s Dairy Dip for lunch — this is their vegetarian black bean burger…yum!
