Bright Star + Commander’s = Yes.

Last weekend, Chef Tory McPhail from Commander’s Palace was at The Bright Star in Bessemer for their annual Taste of New Orleans event.  Av made reservations almost a month in advance to make certain we would get a table – and we were not disappointed.

Snapping turtle soup (I think this was even better than the turtle soup we’ve had at Commander’s in New Orleans):

Well, that was just unspeakably good.

I just noticed that at the Commander’s in Destin the seats are upholstered with the New Orleans toile from Hazelnut (I bought it from them also, and it lines our built-ins, in our living room).
