My knitting group is familiar with Jewish superstition, so they decided to throw a not-a-shower! How neat is that? We all got together at Bibby’s and had a fabulous time! I just *have* to show pics of some of what I brought home!
This is Marie’s first knitting project – a burp cloth! I have been knitting about two years now, and Marie has only been at it a few months…she is waaay ahead of me (already working on a cable stitch on another project, while I am cranking out my 1000th scarf!)! Isn’t this so great!?
Darlene made two things – one is a little kimono (it wraps over itself and ties with ribbons) in a super-pretty green, and this bib. Look at the close-up below of the lamb button, too!!
Bibby got this chair and caned the seat herself (she says if it’s a girl we will add more pink to this chair!) – she went to one of the folk crafts schools in North Carolina and learned how to do this…she does it professionally, and you can tell just by looking at it:
Everybody chipped in and *commissioned a quilt* too! Y’all, commissioned a quilt! Tell me that’s not just the sweetest thing ever. Ever-ever!
Besides the things that were bought at the store, and the homemade things, they all went in to have a quilt made. I already had tears from everything else, but this was just an incredible surprise. It’s really big, so here’s one side showing, folded:
I love you girls!!
